Artists Helping Artists:
It’s What We Do…

As you know, Hurricane Helene blew through the southeast U. S. like no other storm, leaving wide swaths of unfathomable destruction. We see these images and videos and think, where and how do they start to clean up this mess and return their lives to normal? While the big picture may seem impossible, millions of small acts of kindness—and you’re one of the millions—opens up hope.

We, as artists, have an inherent need reach out to help our counterparts in these devastated communities. To slightly modify a saying, Home is where the art is. While other wonderful organizations are supplying food and water and basic necessities, there are very few that will assist artists whose studios and entire life’s work have been destroyed. Would you like to help these fellow artists? Here are links to legitimate arts organizations that are delivering disaster aid to artists in Asheville’s hard hit River Arts District:

Thank you for considering helping your fellow artists in their time of need,

SCA strives to present a wide variety of education programs throughout the year. These activities are part of our mission to deepen the region’s understanding and appreciation of arts and culture.

This year, we will take that mission to new heights, by offering an extremely rare and exciting peek into the art, private life, and creative process of one of America’s most beloved painters, Andrew Wyeth.
