Bradford Drury Art

Lifelong sailor, scallywag, and self-taught painter — if you ignore that his father was a Columbia MFA — who enjoys painting people, places, and creatures of the coast. He is a published cartoonist and authored and illustrated "A is for Anchor, B is for Boat", a children's book. He and his young family sailed up and down the eastern seaboard, but now that his children are grown he tends to cruise New England and paint our regions amazing scenery. Drawn to the Southcoast by an artist friend he is making the area home. While cruising he paints watercolor because oil impasto does poorly when it falls to the teak and holly sole. He prefers to work with oils the remainder of the year. Although tending towards realism his oeuvre has been know to stray. He has been very kindly welcomed by the Westport Art Group with whom he paints plein air. His work has been honored at multiple juried shows. Please feel free to approach him if you see him painting. He enjoys the conversation.
