WHIMSICAL PAINTINGS OF ANIMALS, BIRDS AND FLOWERS.

Carol Way Wood

Carol Way Wood attended the Boston Museum School and received her BFA from the Swain School of Design in New Bedford, MA in 1972. She is the daughter of oil painter Grace Godwin Way and the granddaughter of noted Golden Age Illustrator Frank Godwin. When she was eight years old she decided she wanted to be an illustrator, too. Subsequently, she began drawing animals and plants and still does a well planned drawing before she starts a painting, Carol is fascinated by the natural world, but also infuses her work with humor and is particularly fond of puns. She has illustrated 6 books and is working on a 7th. She has also designed greeting cards, calendars, paperweights. While all of her work begins with an original painting she creates prints of most of her work to make it affordable. She encourages you to see her on the tour or visit her website.
