Michael Walden

Michael Walden Art

Michael Walden is a painter and printmaker creating works that challenge the audience to take a profound journey through the exploration of painterly and printed surfaces. Narrative tensions of the figure within interior space, both physical and cerebral, are evocative and expressively mysterious. His works conjure personal narratives and reflections within the viewer.

Michael Walden received his BFA from the University of Framingham MA. This degree included a year abroad painting at the Fortman Studio in Florence, Italy. He received a MFA from Boston University focused on Art Education, and a second MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, with a concentration in painting. Walden had his first Solo Exhibition at the Leslie Lohman Museum of Art in Manhattan, and has shown extensively throughout New England. He was awarded artist residencies at the Fine Arts Work Center and Vermont Studio Center as well as the Cuttyhunk Island Art Residency. He lives and works in Westport, Massachusetts, and New York, New York.

Walden is represented by Prince Street Gallery in New York City. His works can be seen at the links below.
