Heartsrock Healing Arts

Michelle Smith’s artistic style is informed by her connection to nature. When she is inspired by a place, her goal is to interpret the essence of the scene.

Her journey with painting started by taking lessons with local painter June Angier in her home town of Marshfield when she was a teenager. After she had her son and was living on the Back River in Duxbury, MA she honed her photography skills which earned her awards in local juried shows. Photography gave her the opportunity to develop her sense of composition and an understanding of ight and reflection.

Michelle has won numerous awards for her photography and her work was accepted into the 2024 Provincetown Art Association Member Juried Show. Her paintings have been accepted in juried shows at the Plymouth, MA Art Guild with two paintings honored by being chosen to be presented in the Art in Bloom shows.

Michelle has worked as a Masters level social worker for the last thirty years. When she is immersed in a subject, whether behind the camera or in front of an easel, she hopes to communicate a beauty that is inherent in all life, bringing a sense of peace to the viewer.
