Nancy R. M. Whitin

Nancy R. M. Whitin has studied with the Silvermine Guild, RISD, and extensively with private instructors. She has been juried-in as a member of the prestigious Pastel Society of America in NYC, and Whitin’s paintings “Not So Blue” and “Go Ask Alice” were awarded Honorable Mentions in Pastel Journal’s 22nd and 24th Annual International Pastel 100 Competitions. She has been a finalist in the Artist’s Magazine Annual International Art Competition three times, as well as a finalist in this year’s Southwest Art’s Annual Excellence Competition. Whitin was honored to be one of the fifteen artists invited to participate in the invitational exhibit Our Shared Planet, examining animals as the inspiration for art, at the Parsons Gallery, The Lexington Arts Society in Lexington, MA, at which time her artwork was featured in the Boston Globe’s Art Section.

Whitin’s newest series, comprised of large-scale abstracts, is titled “Hoof Beats…impressions in paint.”
