Randall Swann
Randy Swann is a landscapist who works mostly in oils, both plein air and in the studio. He is a 1979 graduate of Swain School of Design, studying under David Loeffler Smith, Sig Haines and Ben Martinez. He has shown extensively in the southcoast area.
Randy has described his art-making process as a relentless conversation with himself that ultimately lets an audience in on the story. These conversations are sometimes conscious, but many are not.
His work is influenced by figurative painters such as Fairfield Porter, Edward Hopper, Louisa Mattiasdottir and Rackstraw Downes.
Randy is also a writer, photographer and retired graphic designer. He lives in Lakeville, out in the woods.
